Blade TV Series

Nowadays TV series have reached an undeniable quality level, and I think a Blade TV series can contribute something very good and interesting to the medium. Having done some thinking about this, I believe it could be great if Stephen Norrington participates in such a project in a way or an other . I mean, HE brought to the big screen Blade, it was not evident if this would be successful in the beginning, and he greatly succeeded. So maybe the potential producers of a TV Series might be quite well-advised to work with him,... maybe as a consultant, or why not the director of the Series Pilot. This can also be a wink to salute the good work Stephen did on the first movie.

I'm all for it, even though I'd like it to be animated instead of live-action. |

Welcome, Loader2K1
I've been waiting for you to join up.
Yeah, I'd like to see an animated show, not a live-action. Doing a live-action seems to be dropping a few notches---there is no way the care and consideration would be put in, not to mention the beauty and the rage. But an animated series would be a very natural way for the Blade saga to continue. And classy. Plus, the possibilities with animation for TV are so unlimited and they haven't been touched yet. Not really. I wish someone would step in and take some chances.
I wonder if Stephen Norrington would be able to contribute? Or if he would even want to. Urban touched on something, there. That, I would dearly love to see.
I'm very glad you joined |

Animated would be awesome to watch. I'm not too keen on a Blade TV series, but it would be cool to see Blade in anime/manga/whatever.
Just as long as they don't kiddify it, I'm happy with animation. |

The idea of seeing Blade, I mean done wid da humans, on the Sci-Fi channel is frightening(yeah, I know, it's going to be Spike TV, but still...same thing)
However, the more I think (and drool) over the idea of it being animated, for us grown-ups(*snicker*), yeah . . . I love manga, I love it!
Oh, well, I can dream |

The character of Blade appeared in the Spider-man Animated TV series 10 years ago, may be a "try" to see how Blade could make his road in the Animated World.
Blade, the Vampire Hunter (1996)
(Neogenic Nightmare, Part 9; Episode 22)
Drawn to New York to track down the vampire that is plaguing ESU students, Blade the Vampire Hunter encounters Spider-Man who he believes is the culprit. After discovering that his usual vampire weapons have no effect on the web-slinger, Blade reluctantly agrees that Spider-Man is not the vampire. When Spider-Man reveals that Morbius is the real vampire as well as the victim of a Neogenic Recombinator experiment gone awry, Blade decides to demolish the scientific equipment. Can Spider-Man prevent the vampire hunter from destroying the Recombinator as well as Michael Morbius?

The TV Show is coming on June 2006
|
|
|
Blade scriptwriter David Goyer is co-writing the pilot and will serve as an executive producer on the TV show based around the trilogy of vampire movies..
Kirk 'Sticky' Jones will take over from Wesley Snipes to play Eric Brooks, and he can expect to be joined by a sexy sidekick.
Goyer says "It's planned that our hero will be partnered with kick-ass Buffy-alike female warrior."
Jones will be joined in the cast by Jill Wagner, Neil Jackson, Jessica Gower and Nelson Lee. Goyer is writing the pilot with comic-book scribe Geoff Johns; the two have previously worked together on the Justice Society of America comic for DC Comics. Peter O'Fallon (House) will direct the pilot, which is scheduled for a June 2006 premiere. |

I love David Goyer, but he frightens me when he talks like this
A "Buffy-like"???
So does he mean a beautiful, ass-kicking, vampire-killer woman, or does he mean a whiney baby-girl who cries about her boyfriend in every episode? Please, no angst in this show!
How much mayhem and vampire-killing can we expect? A goodly amount, I hope. Will the new Blade be based on the Wesley Snipes model? Are any trailers going to be out soon so I can see this new fella? Because I'd like to see him in action as Blade. I'll be having a temper-tantrum the entire time, of course, but it's my duty.
Thanks for the updates, Urban! |
