Subject description: How to reply to one person without quoting them
Reply with quote

This is a terribly embarrassing thing to ask, but does anyone know how to reply to one poster without using the "quote" option?

I usually do want to use their quotes, but on one occassion, I just wanted to make a fast reply and couldnt figure out how to do it unless I hit "quote"

I am much saddened by this stunning lack of knowledge on my part. Crying or Very sad

Any time you respond in these forums, you are in fact to the entire post, the topic, not one person. The "quote" feature acts only as a kind of "flag" to a particular person that you are responding to him. The quote calls attention to that person. You can also just type their name to get their attention as an alternative.
